Two Kenyans will be in action on Saturday as the Youth Commonwealth Games kick off at the Hasely Crawford Stadium in Trinidad and Tobago.

In 2022, Kiptala was poised to secure 6th place on the final stage but encountered an unfortunate bike breakdown, causing him to miss out on the opportunity due to a puncture.

Meanwhile, the 7th edition of the games were officially declared open by the President of Trinidad and Tobago Christine Kangaloo, in an exciting and colorful opening ceremony at the heart of Trinidad.

The hosts Trinidad gave the athletes and local fans a special treat, one with color and pomp, and with a sprinkle of the carnival culture and traditions of the Caribbean.

Host nation Trinidad and Tobago truly outdid themselves.

In attendance at the opening ceremony were NOC-K president Dr.Paul Tergat, and Chef de Mission madam Winnie Kamau.

Elsewhere in Tobago, the Kenya girls beach volleyball team will be up against Bermuda at the black rock facility.
