For the first time, there were four teams in the NBA All-Star Game (or better said, tournament), as Shaquille O'Neal's "Original Gangsters" beat Charles Barkley's "Global Stars" in the final

Another All-Star Weekend is behind us. After the All-Star Celebrity game, the Rising Stars Challenge, Skills Challenge (won by Cleveland Cavaliers' duo, Donovan Mitchell and Evan Mobley), the Three Point Contest (won by Miami Heat's Tyler Hero), and the Slam Dunk Contest (won by Orlando Magic's Mac McClung for the third consecutive time), it was time for the "real thing" - the All-Star Game.

This year, as part of the innovation, instead of only one game, there was a tournament which included four teams chosen by the NBA and legends: Shaquille O'Neal ("Original Gangsters"), Charles Barkley ("Global Stars"), and Kenny Smith ("Young Stars"), and the WNBA icon Candace Parker ("Rising Stars").

Even though the result was - as always - a secondary, O'Neal and Barkley's crews made it to the final, in which Shaq's OGs deservedly triumphed 41-25. Although Jayson Tatum was the scoring leader with 15 points, Steph Curry - who used the opportunity to make some unbelievable shots - was the MVP. San Antonio Spurs' Victor Wembanyama led the losing team with 11 points.

Every member of the winning team was rewarded with $125,000, while the "losers" received $50,000 each.

In the end, the change of competition format was not the only uniqueness of this particular All-Star Game. For the first time after 20 years, LeBron James missed the All-Star Game, as the LA Lakers player announced his withdrawal about an hour before the match due to ankle and foot issues.
