Crawford International School joins elite lineup for Kenya Aquatics National Age Group Championships

Crawford International School is gearing up for the highly anticipated Kenya Aquatics LC National Age Group Swimming Championship, slated for 22-23 June 22-23, 2024, at the renowned Kasarani Aquatic Arena.
The event, which has attracted 45 teams from across the country, is set to be a significant milestone in East African swimming with Kenya boasting the only Olympic-size swimming pool in the region.
Nations such as Zambia, Uganda, Burundi, Tanzania, Rwanda, and Nigeria have confirmed their participation, highlighting the championship's growing reputation across the continent.
Omar Ali Omari, the Swimming Head Coach at Crawford International School expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming competition.
"This will be the greatest national swimming championship ever held in Kenya," Omari stated. "Our teams have undergone rigorous training and I am confident in their ability to deliver an impressive performance."
In addition to his coaching duties, Omari also doubles as the Chairperson of the Technical Committee for Kenya Aquatics.
He assured stakeholders that all necessary arrangements have been made to ensure a seamless event managed under World Aquatics Rules.
Dedicated swim parent Dr. Rosemary Murori is among the many supporters eager to cheer on the Crawford team.
"I will be at Kasarani next weekend to support the team, including my passionate son who dreams of joining the national team," she said.
Muthomi expressed hope that Crawford's swimmers will excel and earn spots on the national team for upcoming international events, including the prestigious 9th Africa Aquatics Zone 3 in Burundi later this year.
The championship has garnered support from numerous sponsors and partners including ORS, Optiven Real Estate, Avenue Hospital, Touride Adventures, Zetech University and TW Solar, among others.
The event will also be graced by officials from the Ministry of Sports and National Olympics Committee of Kenya (NOCK), underscoring its importance as a trial for future competitions.
