Kenya's boxing team for the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham is in good shape and looking forward to get started, coach Benjamin Musa has declared.
Benjamin reiterates that the team consists of boxers that are are experienced enough to do well and carry the Kenyan flag high.
“We are very thankful that we arrived here (Birmingham) safely and have no injury concerns in the entire boxing team. All the boxers are in good shape and we are now polishing up ahead of Friday when we kick off officially,” Musa said,

“All the boxers in our team have Commonwealth experience. Christine Ongare was the only medalist last time at Gold Coast. Shaffie Bakari lost at the quarterfinal stage, Nick Okoth’s experience speaks for itself while Elizabeth Andiengo was also in the last Commonwealth games. They all have what it takes to win medals and I have faith in them.” He added.
The coach decried the lack of buildup bouts ahead of the games. He however remains optimistic that his boxers will do well.
