Sensational Block set to grace Classic in November where he will race in a Porsche

American professional rally driver and internet phenomenon Ken Block is joining Tuthill Porsche for the East Africa Safari Classic Rally (EASCR) in November 2021, the driver has announced.

Run over 9 days and spanning nearly 5000km through Kenya, the EASCR, is widely regarded as the world’s greatest classic rally.

“This is going to be a wild and fun 2021 for me and the team racing several events at the American Rally Championship but also racing a Porsche in the EASCR. I will also be taking on the infamous Baja 1000 in my first race in a Trophy Truck, and that is just the beginning. We will also be creating and driving in a wild evolution of the viral Gymkhana film series this year as well as announcing more manufacturer partnerships soon," Block said while announcing his 2021 plans.

Richard Tuthill of Tuthill Porsche said, “I am delighted that one of the most influential figures of the motorsport world is joining us for the EASCR in Kenya. With his extraordinary breadth and depth of experience we know he will be a serious contender on such an event. I can’t wait to meet in person and help him get comfortable at the wheel of a safari Porsche, which we all know is one of life’s great experiences."

“We are delighted to welcome such a world-renowned driver as Block for the tenth edition of EASCR. Such a big name driver is testament to the long standing reputation of this great classic rally. Following over ten years of rallying in the World Rally Championship (WRC), we are delighted he will join us to try and achieve a hattrick of consecutive wins in Kenya," Lynn Tundo, Managing Director of EASCR, said

The day after the East African rally is scheduled to end, Block will head straight to Baja, Mexico to start the pre-run of the Baja 1000, then buckle into a Trophy Truck for his first ever attempt at the legendary off-road race. He seeks to answer the question: “Can a rally driver translate his skills directly to the world of off-road truck racing?” For the event, he’s teaming up with 16-year-old Jax Redline, an up and coming off-road racer who just took 5th overall at last weekend’s San Felipe 250.
