Ambrose Kisoi resigns as KBF Secretary General

The Kenya Basketball Federation (KBF) on Thursday 26 October announced the resignation of Ambrose Kisoi as the Secretary General.
In a statement by the federation’s National Executive Committee, the decision was arrived at by Kisoi due to “personal reasons and following a period of careful consideration”, with KBF saying that “it respects Kisoi’s choice and will miss his hard work, commitment and contributions.”

Confirming his resignation, Kisoi posted on social media saying: "I have hereby tendered my resignation as the Secretary General of the Kenya Basketball Federation with immediate effect. For those that I helped to achieve, we thank God and for those that we were yet to achieve more, keep the hope alive."
Kisoi, a former FIBA International referee, was elected as Secretary General in January 2021, and served as Assistant Secretary General in the previous term under the then Secretary General Vitalis Gode.
His assistant - Ms. Angela Luchivya - will consequently assume the responsibilities of Secretary General, with Moses Wanjara, a co-opted member, assisting in the secretariat duties.
“Mr. Kisoi has been an invaluable asset to the KBF and served with distinction and dedication,” the official statement from Kenya Basketball Federation read. “He has been pivotal in steering the Federation’s missions and operations, contributing to its growth, development and success.”
Among the significant milestones seen in his time in-charge were: reignition of the junior league and other youth development programs, improvements in communication, and efficiency in running the secretariat.
The National Executive Committee statement added: “The KBF extends heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Kisoi for his unwavering commitment to the Federation. We wish him success in his future endeavors, and we are confident that his contributions will continue to impact the sports community.”
