The league has taken a break until January 2023 when the second leg is set to resume.
Moses Alier has been the missing puzzle for Umoja basketball men's team in the top tier league and is hoping to help the side qualify for the playoffs.
The side is looking to finish in the top eight in the regular season for a place in the playoffs and their plans received a major boost in their last outing as they stunned former champions Ulinzi Warriors 60-55.
Alier was the top scorer in the match against Warriors, scoring 30 points, not a new trend for the youngster with a precise three-point shot who has been crucial to the team's performance this season.
"I missed alot of matches in the first leg, played four winning two. I had alot of learning to do in the first leg as I was not used to the physical game that is played in the top tier but I am doing better in the second leg.
Being my first season in the premier league, I really want to be in the playoffs and I am confident we can do it together," offered the Laiser Hill alumnus who moved to Umoja from NBA side KUEI.
The player admits that there is pressure to show up for every game so as to achieve his set goals, adding that this is a new territory.
"I feel the burden to be able to perform better than I did in the last match and that is not easy. I am, however, happy to do it against some of the best players in the league. My biggest achievement in the league so far is being able to go up against experienced players in the league," Alier added.
Umoja skipper Tony Okol while acknowledging that Alier has played a key role in the team's performance admitted that the other players have to step up.
"He scores most of our points and while that is the role he has to play for the team, there is need for every other player to show up just as hard so we don't fall into trouble if and when he is unavailable," Okol said.
KBF leagues have gone on a break and are set to resume, tentatively on the second weekend of January 2023.
