“It's high time boxing was turned into a fruitful financial venture that will benefit all and sundry involved in boxing,” Odera said of his new project on Thursday. “The stage is now set for a pound for pound rivalry between Kenya and Ugandan pro boxers.”
Among the Kenyan boxers involved will be 26-year-old George “King George” Odhiambo (9-1-2) who will face off Uganda’s 24-year-old Junju Power (7-0-0).
Another Kenyan prodigy, Richard Okoth, who has only three professional bouts in his career, takes on 23-year-old Isaac Ssebuufu (6-0-0).
Also in the card will be 27-year-old Wilson Olembo (2-0-0) of Kenya, who will go for the National Super Featherweight title against Joseph Akahonya, going for his maiden win after suffering two losses to kickstart his young pro-career.
Veteran Kenyan boxer Praxides Anyango will in the Super Featherweight Pugilist Syndicate of Tanzania (PST) Title go for what could potentially be her fifth pro win when she faces Tanzanian Najma Isike (3-0-3).
In total, there are expected to be 12 fights in what will mark a return for UFS after successfully hosting the Repeat or Revenge Boxing Night on 22 July 2023 at Sarit Expo Centre.
