Supermarlins, Crawford emerge winners in Kiambu Aquatics Level One Swimming Championships

In other positive news during the event, it was announced that World Aquatics accredited coaches will arrive in Kenya this April to elevate the skills of local coaches in the country
Supermarlins and Crawford International School dominated the Kiambu County Aquatics Association Level One Swimming Championships held on Sunday 28 January at Mpesa Foundation Academy, Thika.
The former, participating in the boys category, clinched the title ahead of Hydro Fit Swim Club and Genesis Sports Limited who came in the 1st and 2nd runners up positions.

In the girls’ category, Crawford, coached by Omar Omari, finished ahead of Nova Pioneer and Loreto Convent Valley Road in second and third positions.
“Huge thanks and credit to Kiambu Aquatics for the meticulous organization of this event that laid bare the exceptional swimming talents,” Omari said of the championships that attracted over 30 teams from across the nation, comprising nearly 500 participants.
Among the schools present included: Jabali Fins, Oshwal Academy, Aga Khan Academy, Juja St. Peter's, Woodcreek School, Supermarlins, Hydro Fit Swim Club, Brookhouse, Nova Pioneer Tatu City Campus, Alliance High School and Juja Prep and Senior School.
Nesmus Mbati, the Kiambu Aquatics Public Relations Officer, on the other hand extended heartfelt appreciation to sponsors, including Zetech University, and shed light on the ongoing swimming league where teams are accumulating points in a progressive fashion and Supermarlins commanding the lead.
He emphasized that the league will end in July this year, culminating in a glamorous awarding ceremony.
Mbati revealed that a substantial number of swimmers have already qualified for Kiambu Aquatics Level 2, slated for 10 -11 February 2024 at Mpesa Foundation Academy.
With a rallying call to intensify training efforts, Mbati anticipates an equally thrilling competition in Level 2, showcasing the undeniable growth and prowess of Kiambu's swimming community.
