The youngster received the opportunities after impressing various coaches during her US open run.
Kenya’s tennis history maker Angella Okutoyi is delighted after receiving up to thirty scholarship opportunities to study with universities in the United States of America.
The 18-year-old youngster, who became the first Kenyan to lift a Grand Slam title when she won the 2022 Wimbledon Girls Doubles trophy back in July alongside her Dutch partner Rose Marie Nijkamp, revealed that the offers were presented to her table after her participation at the 2022 US Open Junior Championships that took place from 4-10 September.
During that run, Okutoyi, who is the top-seeded player in the country, made it to the second round in both her Singles and Doubles events before succumbing to defeats which saw her run brought to a halt.
“I got upto thirty scholarship opportunities. I have not decided yet but I hope to do so in time. The opportunities came as a result of different coaches reaching out and I must admit I feel good about it,” the teenage sensation told Mozzart Sport.
