The varsity side plays Eldonets in their next assignment.
Following a disastrous start to the second leg of the Kenya Basketball Federation (KBF) men's league, Africa Nazarene University (ANU) Wolfpacks' head coach Mike Oluoch says he is working on the team's confidence ahead of their next encounter.
This post weekend, the varsity found themselves in the mud after back-to-back loses against Zetech Titans and title-hopefuls Equity Dumas, a result that leaves them with eight losses and seven wins.
What's more worrying for the tactician is the fact that three of the said loses have come in the second leg yet the team has only played four matches.
"Last weekends results were quite shocking. I could not tell why my players were not performing as expected and that calls for some serious conversations on the way forward.
We have to go back to the drawing board and work on alot of things. We have to step up and show up in each match.
We had a good first leg but now the confidence of rhe team seems to be affected. We are losing our grip and are committing some rookie mistakes and that could be costly if allowed to continue," offered Oluoch.
The varsity side find themselves seventh on the log and while a playoff slot is still achievable, any more dropped points could se them miss out on what has been their target since gaining promotion those season.
Their next assignment is set for 19 February away in Eldoret where they take on Eldonets, a side also keen to feature in the playoffs.
