
NOC-K to sign MOU with Miramas City for Paris 2024 Olympic preparations

The NOC-K Executive had initiated discussions with Miramas, the South of France Territory in the City of Marseill,e early last year.
NOC-K President Paul Tergat is leading a delegation from Kenya to Miramas City to sign the Memorandum of Understanding for Team Kenya Pre-Games preparations for Paris 2024.
The MOU signing will take place in Miramas tomorrow, 3rd February 2023 with the following organisations in the South of France; the Department of Bouches-du-Rhône, Miramas Metropole, and Miramas Athletics Club.

This will be at the sidelines of the World Athletics Indoor Meeting of Miramas at Stadium Miramas Métropole, where Kenyan athletes will also be participating including African and Commonwealth Champion in 100 metres Ferdinand Omanyala.
The President is accompanied in the mission by NOC-K Secretary General, Francis Mutuku and NOC-K Treasurer Eliud Kariuki and also joined by Kenya's Ambassador to France Prof Judi Wakhungu. The embassy's role will be critical in providing support to the Kenyan delegation in the run up to the Olympics.

The NOC-K Executive had initiated discussions with Miramas, the South of France Territory in the City of Marseille early last year and a delegation from either parties have done orientation visits, the Miramas team visiting Kenya in December last year to finalize details of the MOU.
The details will be released upon signing, but the primary objective of this partnership is to benefit individual athletes and teams in their preparation towards the 2024 Olympics.
It is expected that local clubs in the South of France will make their facilities and professionals available to Team Kenya to best prepare for the Olympics from early this year.
