Samman is 14 points ahead of Jasmeet and could have comfortably racked-up the coveted title by banking fourth overall on the season-closing ARC Guru Nanak Equator Rally decider

Kenya Motor Sports Federation (KMSF) has announced that organisers of the Kenyan leg of the Africa Rally Championship (ARC), Sikh Union Club have been forced to cancel the event due to inclement weather.

Guru Nanak Rally, which was set for 29 November to 1 December, had been earmarked as the ARC replacement for 2024 Equator Rally Kenya that was scheduled for end of June but suffered a similar fate, being declared a force majeure.

"Due to inclement weather, they (Sikh Union) wish to apply for cancellation of the event under Article 34.1 of the FIA Regional Regulation by declaring force majeure. The Kenya Motor Sports Federation has notified the Category Manager - FIA Regional Rally Championships of the circumstances facing the planning and organisation of the event and the FIA has agreed with the Organiser's view that the Rally can be cancelled for reasons of force majeure. In light of this, Kenya's round of the 2024 African Rally Championship and the Guru Nanak round of the Kenya National Rally Championship are officially cancelled," the statement by KMSF reads in part.

In addition to the ARC where Kenya's Karan Patel already has the African title in the bag and the focus would have been on ARC support categories- ARC2 and ARC3 -currently led by Uganda's Mike Mukula Jr. and Nikhil Sachania, the KNRC title was set to be decided in the event.

The event scheduled for Kasarani and Stoni Athi would have seen defending champions Jasmeet Chana alongside co-driver Ravi Chana, who just won the Tanzanian title for the same role, and series leaders Samman Vohra and navigator Alfir Khan going for each other’s jugular.

After three action-packed rounds in Eldoret, Nanyuki, and Safari in Naivasha as well as five Force Majeures on KRT, KMSC, Nakuru, Mombasa and now StoninAthi, Samman is 14 points ahead of Jasmeet and could have comfortably racked-up the coveted title by banking fourth overall on the season-closing ARC Guru Nanak Equator Rally decider regardless of his opponent’s result.
