KPA lead the log at 28 points while GSU and KDF are second and third respectively.

Kenya Forest Service (KFS) head coach Wachira Gatuiria is hoping to guide his charges to the Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) men's league playoffs.

With six matches to go for most teams, KFS are in fourth-place having played nine matches for seven wins and are at 20 point, eight behind leaders Kenya Ports Authority (KPA).

To maintain their place, the tactician maintains that they will fight to win the remaining matches but was quick to note that the side is taking it one match at a time.

"The log is still wide open and there are about seven teams that have the possibility of making the top four and feature in the playoffs. Any point we get from any opponent is very important and for the remaining six matches, we have to take it one step at a time and fight for the four slots," offered Gatuiria.

On the weekend, KFS blew hot and cold, losing with an unexpected 3-0 (25-17, 25-18, 25-20) margin to Equity Bank, picking a 3-2 (25-19, 22-25, 25-18, 21-25, 17-15) victory against Administration Police (AP), beating former champions Kenya Prisons 3-1 (25-20, 19-25, 25-18, 25-20), and a walkover against the no-show Western Prisons.

"We lost some crucial points and gained some but given the competitiveness of the league this season, it was a successful weekend. No team is easy in the league. Playing some matches indoors and others outdoors is also a tricky balancing act," added the tactician.

KFS have a date with General Service Unit (GSU) and newbies Trailblazers among others in the remaining six matches. The match against holders GSU will be a repeat draw as the two faced off in the fourth leg but their match was rained off, tied 2-2, with a poorly lit Indoor facility denying KFS a crucial one or two points.

"I am not focusing on just one match, we are targeting one match at a time. The risk of focusing on one opponent is a team might end up losing out matches they would otherwise not have lost had they co concentrated on the task at hand. The match against GSU is just like any other for us," Gatuiria concluded.
