Brandon Ingram's fantastic performance wasn't enough to defeat Atlanta, while Orlando stood no chance in Dallas without Paolo Banchero
Only two NBA games were played the previous night - Atlanta beat the Pelicans 126-111 in New Orleans and Dallas easily smashed Orlando at the American Airlines Center. The winner was resolved in the third quarter, which the Hawks won 35-26, entering the last period with an eight-point advantage.
Jalen Johnson led Quin Snyder's team with 29 points, while Atlanta's three-time all-star Trae Young noted a double-double, 23 points and 12 assists. Dyson Daniels, whom New Orleans traded to the Hawks in July, scored 16 points and knew how to celebrate them in front of his former teammates. Brandon Ingram scored 32 points and seven rebounds in the losing squad, while Jordan Hawkins added 19. Both Atlanta and New Orleans now have three wins and four losses.

In Dallas, the Mavericks brushed aside Orlando Magic, which were without their superstar Paolo Banchero 108-85. The power forward suffered a right oblique injury and will miss the next few weeks. In his absence, the team from Florida stood no chance against Luka Doncic and Co. The Slovenian led the Mavs with 32 points, nine rebounds, and seven assists, supported by Daniel Gafford (18 points) and Kyrie Irving (17 points).
Just watch how effortless Luka Doncic makes this…

On the other hand, Orlando had only four double-digit players, which was far from enough to hold out in Texas. The Wagner brothers, Franz and Moritz, noted 13 and 10 points, respectively. The sophomore Jett Howard scored 12, while Jalen Suggs added 10 points. The Mavs recorded their fourth triumph of the season, while the Magic now have four defeats.
