The fourth leg of the NCBA JGF US Kids spring tour produced no major surprises as familiar faces claimed the top honors at the Windsor Golf and Country Hotel.
After competing in the inter-school tournament at the same venue on Friday, the juniors returned on Sunday with similar results in some categories.
In the boys' 12-year-old category, Adam Nesbitt once again excelled, scoring 76, three shots ahead of Shuhan Peng, who scored 79, and Palash Tank, who finished with 83.
Adam now leads the overall standings in his group with 90 points, pushing Shuhan Peng to second place with 80 points, while Palash Tank trails in third with 62 points.
In the girls' 13-14 category, Armelle Amani continued her fine form, winning the category ahead of Bianca Dave. Lael Mwangale and Randy Turi tied for third place.
Armelle leads the overall standings with 69 points, just one point ahead of Turi. Amani Muriithi is in third place with 67.5 points, while Lael Mwangale is in fourth, showing great improvement this season.
“I have come a long way and have gotten pretty good. Compared to 2022, I wasn’t the best golfer, but I had determination and worked hard to get where I am today. I’m proud of myself,” said Mwangale.
Chloe Chiuri was also in top form at Windsor, shooting an impressive 73 to win her category. Aria Dodhia and Zianna Khoda finished in second and third place respectively. With this victory, Chiuri extended her overall lead in the standings to 99 points, a remarkable 40 points ahead of second-placed Siqian Yu.
“The first nine holes were my best. I was making putts, though I struggled with alignments at times, resulting in a few bogeys. But I’m aiming to win most, if not all, of the tournaments,” Chiuri explained.
There is little time to rest as the next leg of the series moves to Sigona Golf Club on March 30.
