L. MathekaAfrica 3x3 champions land tough opposition in Olympic qualifying tourney

The highly anticipated 3x3 Olympic event is scheduled from 30 July to 5 August 2024 at the iconic Place de la Concorde, nestled in the heart of Paris
The African 3x3 championship-winning Team Kenya will be in action agian in May as they look to go past one more obstacle to reach the Paris Olympics.
Captained by Natalie Akinyi, the quartet that also had Hilda Indasi, Mercy Wanyama and Madina Okot stunned Egypt in the African Championship Final to be crowned champions thus booking a place to the FIBA 3x3 UOQT Olympic Qualifying Tournament in 2024.

The Evelyn Kedogo-coached side plays Brazil, Australia, Netherlands, Japan, Germany, Canada and Austria.
The qualifiers will be held in two windows, with the FIBA 3x3 UOQT 2 set for Utsunomiya, Japan, from 3 to 5 May 2024 while the FIBA 3x3 OQT to be hosted in Debrecen, Hungary, will take place from 16 to 19 May 2024.
Each tournament will showcase the top teams from around the globe as they battle it out for a coveted spot in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
A total of 64 teams will participate in the FIBA 3x3 Olympic Qualifying Tournaments. The participating teams for each tournament are:
UOQT 1 in Hong Kong, China will take place in April 2024.
MEN: Hong Kong, Netherlands, Mongolia, Latvia, Austria, Switzerland, Egypt, New Zealand
WOMEN: Hong Kong, Hungary, Netherlands, Azerbaijan, Poland, Egypt, Mongolia, Chile
UOQT 2 - Utsunomiya, Japan, will take place from 3 to 5 May 2024
MEN: Egypt, Puerto Rico, Mongolia, Lithuania, Japan, France, Latvia
WOMEN: Kenya, Brazil, Australia, Netherlands, Japan, Germany, Canada, Austria
OQT - Debrecen, Hungary, will take place from 23 to 26 May 2024.
MEN: Hungary, Egypt, Madagascar, Puerto Rico, Canada, Mongolia, Japan, France, Lithuania, Netherlands, Latvia, Belgium, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, Poland
