Zoo FC Head Coach Herman Iswekha has admitted he is under pressure to win their first game of the season.
After stretching their winless start in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League(FKFPL) 2020-2021 season to nine matches, Zoo head coach Herman Iswekha has confessed his desperation to arrest the impoverished run.
League returnees Nairobi City Stars floored Zoo 2-1 on Saturday at the Kasarani Annex to condemn them to their seventh loss of the season, a result which left Iswekha scratching his head over their prolonged stay at the bottom of the log.
The Kericho-based club has bagged two points out of a possible 27 this season and have already been touted as potential candidates in the race to keep the top-flight status.
Iswekha who took the mantle from Sammy Okoth in April 2019 conceded to lack answers to their dismal run from the concerns raised by their rich fan base in Kericho.
He, however, called on the Zoo diehards to rally behind the team during this time they find themselves in uncharted waters as he guaranteed them of redemption in the subsequent matches.
"The buck stops with me. I am under intense pressure to deliver the first win of the season. The performance of the team is increasingly putting me on the spot and our fans are asking a host of questions. However I can assure them we will fight tooth and nail to redeem ourselves in our forthcoming matches," he admitted
The tactician who blamed his blunt striking front for the results revealed his plan to sign a proven goal scorer to inject competition in the department which is currently under the mercy of Bernard Odhiambo and Collins Neto.
"The strikers look promising in training but on match day, they struggle to find the back of the net. We had not thought of bringing new players but we have to find a prolific scorer." He said.
