Zoo FC are four points from relegation safety with head coach Herman Iswekha handing fans hope of beating the drop.

Zoo FC handed themselves a shot in the arm following their 1-1 draw against title-chasing KCB on Sunday with head coach Herman Iswekha offering fans hope of survival.

The Kericho-based club looked to have turned their fortunes around and have gone unbeaten in their last three games picking up a point against Western Stima and beating Vihiga United.

Iswekha handed fans hopes of beating the drop but set himself to work on polishing his toothless attack that has netted a paltry eight goals so far this season.

“My attack is not sharp and that is what has been costing us, in the short transfer window I brought in Castro (Kiprono) who has shown promise, I want to give our fans some hope in the remaining games.”

“Neto (Collins) wasted two chances and maybe if he would have converted them I would have left Nairobi with three points,” said Iswekha.

The draw leaves Zoo just four points off safety despite taking them 11 games to bag their maiden win this season and endured a seven-game losing streak in the run.

The coach admitted that the recent result has left the side brimming with confidence as they try to free themselves from the shackles of relegation.

“I’m very happy that is a plus for us because we were facing a top side, I came knowing what KCB had planned, the one point is like a win for me.”

“My boys have some confidence back with the recent results so I just hope they will not let their spirits dip because every game is like a final to us, we have difficult games coming and we have to work hard to escape relegation,” added Iswekha.

Zoo next face another daunting task when they welcome AFC Leopards to the Kericho Green Stadium on Wednesday 31 March.
