Chelsea midfielder is on the verge of terminating his Istanbul stay

Galatasaray could terminate Hakim Ziyech's loan from Chelsea after just five months. According to various reports, the Morrocan winger's spell in the Turkish Super Lig is about to end earlier than expected due to his 'ineffectiveness' and 'not being able to perform as expected'.

As per Turkish outlet NTV Sport, Galatasaray are now said to be ready to cut his loan deal short and send him back to Chelsea.

His career at Galatasaray started in a positive way after he emerged among ultras to conduct a chant from the stands in front of his new teammates.

However, he has struggled later after picking up a handful of niggling injuries, featuring just nine times in the Turkish top flight so far - starting six of those and scoring twice.

For now, the 30-year-old will be focused on the upcoming African Cup of Nations after being called up to Walid Regragui's 27-man squad for the competition.

Ziyech has played a total of 107 times for the Blues since joining from Ajax for £34million in 2020, though his place in the team is uncertain should he return to Stamford Bridge earlier than expected.
