The former Tusker FC forward has signed a two-year contract at the Solwezi-based club.

Despite being touted with a fairytale return to Tusker FC, Kenyan international Jesse Were has sealed a move to Zambian Super League outfit Kansanshi Dynamos.

The 32-year-old has inked a two-year deal with the Solwezi-based club after putting an end to his five-year glittering spell at Zesco United.

Kansanshi Dynamos took to Facebook to announce the arrival of Were whose new contract is set to expire in 2023.

“Welcome Were. We are pleased to announce our latest addition to our squad, Jackson Jesse Were.

The Kenyan Hitman has joined Us on a two-year contract after leaving ZESCO United FC,” read a statement from Kansanshi Dynamos.

The former Mathare United was rumoured to be headed for the exit door at Zesco United at the start of December with his contract expiring at the end of 2021.

Kansanshi Dynamos ply their trade in the Zambian top-tier and play their games at the 10,000 seater Solwezi Independence Stadium.

Were wrote his name in Zesco United’s folklore after becoming the first player to score 100 goals for the club where he won four league titles.

Having secured promotion to the Zambian Super League back in 2019, Kansanshi Dynamos are hoping to extend their stay in the top flight as they are currently in danger of facing the drop as they are just five points above relegation places.
