Bulls finished third in the third-tier and therefore did not the much sought-after promotion to the NSL
Young Bulls team manager Shahib Shahib is confident that the team will be promoted to the National Super League (NSL) in the new season.
Bulls were on course to garner automatic promotion to the second tier after leading the Division One Zone A league for the better part of the past campaign.
However, the team lost footing in the closing stages of the season and ended up finishing third behind Nairobi United and Rainbow FC who won the league.
Shahib said they had learnt their lessons the hard way and will give their best in the new season and fulfill their desire of gracing the second tier.
"We might have lost the promotion race last season but we haven't lost hope in winning in the new season. We are confident that we will top the league," said Shahib.
Asked on what went south towards the end of the past term, Shahib blamed loss of form and off the field issues for the sharp decline in performance.
"Some of the 'decisions' made affected us but we live to fight another day," he said without clarifying more.
Shahib also pointed out at insufficient funds for the lost chance to play in the Super League.
He said the club largely depended on its patron Johnstone Mwabati as well as well wishers in the season.
" You need millions of shillings so as to succeed in the third tier. At some point, we lacked finances and it affected our performance," he offered.
Bulls are expected to resume training later in the month.
