Tottenham record their sixth victory out of eight games thanks to Van de Ven's second-half winner at Luton
Who could have predicted that?! Tottenham are at the top of the Premier League table after beating Luton Town 1-0 at Kenilworth Road on Saturday afternoon.
Ange Postocouglou's mean machine didn't shine against the charming minnows but still managed to win and put their name into history - this is the best start of the season for the Spurs (with six victories and two draws) since 1960.
That year, Tottenham won the domestic double (their last league title, btw), and although it's too early to predict the outcome of the current campaign, Ange's boys seem capable of going all the way.

This time, it was Van de Ven with a cheeky finish in the 52nd minute to make the most of Maddison's assist and push his team to the summit.
After the first 10 minutes of the first half, if was a miracle why Tottenham were not 3-0 up already. But at the 44th minute, a totally different picture was on the field, as the guests were left without Yves Bissouma, who got the second yellow card, this time for simulation a foul. Until then, everything was good for Tottenham, apart from goals.
The guests from North London had three great chances inside ten minutes of the game, but the most striking miss way by Richarlison, who is totally out of confidence and form. He managed to miss an empty goal from two meters. Two minutes later, he was in a great chance again, but Luton keeper Kaminski saved it. Pedro Poro was the next one to miss a sitter in the 8th minute, after an assist from Son. But, Luton somehow prevailed and after 45 minutes had one man more on the field and a goalless draw.
With a man up, Luton had a chance to score immediately at the start of the second half, but Adebayo missed a sitter, literally the same one which Richarlison missed in the third minute. The punishment came minutes later, when Van de Ven used a ball from Maddison after the corner and gave Spurs the lead. The home team continued with pressure, had some chances which maybe other teams would already use, but Luton players just couldn't.
Angeball keeps doing wonders!
