The French tactician was having none of that wannabe hooliganism behaviour from the rivals' fans
That Everton fan must have been a toddler back in the days when Patrick Vieira used to exchange much more than nasty looks with, for instance, Roy Keane.
Because if he was aware of how bad-tempered the former Arsenal player can sometimes be, he would have never engaged in a brawl with Vieira, now in charge of Crystal Palace.

But it did happen on Thursday night at Goodison Park, during the ecstatic pitch invasion after the Toffees secured their EPL survival following a 3-2 win over Vieira's side.
In the aftermath of the final whistle, Vieira was walking across the pitch towards his team's dressing room on the other side of the ground. However, an Everton fan approached him, prompting a reaction from the Palace boss, and he didn't hesitate to riposte, to put it mildly...

When Vieira was asked about it in his post-match press conference, he said:
"I've got nothing to say about that."

"The referee managed it really well."

Meanwhile, Everton manager Frank Lampard added:
"I feel for Patrick and I didn't get him [to shake hands] at the end because of the reaction. He ran across the pitch 80 yards in front of our fans, but there's no issue. Just pure elation from our fans at staying in the league."
