A former Manchester City and Barcelona star joins a mid-table Olimpik Donetsk as an assistant coach
Hope he knows what he's doing! A legendary Yaya Toure, one of the finest African players ever to play this beautiful game, launches his coaching career in Ukrainian mid-table side Olimpik Donetsk as an assistant coach!
This, a bit awkward, news circulating at social networks this morning proves to be more than accurate after the first images of Toure in a snow-chained Ukraine are going viral. The 37-year-old former Barcelona and Manchester City player will be a member of Ihor Klimovskyi's staff until the summer. Yaya has already been with the side at winter training camp in Turkey and is currently in snowy Kyiv ahead of the Ukrainian premier league tie vs Dynamo Kyiv.

Ivorian star won't be the only African in the Ukrainian outfit, since the young Cameroonian Tadeus Nkeng Fomakwang still waits for his first official appearance for Olimpik. Interesting enough, this would not be Yaya Toure's first footballing episode in Ukraine, since he spent two seasons playing for Metalurh Donetsk almost 20 years ago.
