A fight for survival in the Championship is what awaits him

Yaya Sanogo spent more than half a year without a club and today he finally managed to get an engagement.

The former Arsenal striker has accepted Huddersfield's offer, so he will fight for survival in the Championship later in the season. And it is exactly the time his contract is valid - until the end of the season. Sanogo has been free since he parted ways with Toulouse. He probably didn't believe that it would take him that long to find a new club.

The French striker of Ivorian and Malian descent started his career in Auxerre, then he was considered one of the most talented strikers in the world, he came to Arsenal, but his career path did not lead him as he expected. He was in Crystal Palace, Ajax, Charlton and finally Toulouse. As of today, he is again a part of English football.

“Yaya is a player who has a background in English football, something that can make his adaptation to the Championship easier.“Physically he has a different profile to the strikers we already have in attack and it can help to increase the offensive versatility of the team.“He has been training with a professional team in France from September until he made the journey to England, which means he should be in a better physical condition. He will still need a little time, and we will work with him to make him ready to help the team in the last part of the season.” head coach Carlos Corberán added.

Huddersfield is in 19th place in the Championship, with seven points more, but also two games more than Rotherham, which is first below the relegation zone.
