Yago Aspas is livid after a questionable VAR review: "We want to be the best league in the world? It won't happen like this!"

Celta deserved three points, but only got one against Sevilla
Celta and Sevilla haven't won since September, and they wouldn't change that in early November either. They drew 1-1 in Galicia, but it's a draw that satisfies neither team. It's even less pleasing for Celta, who were awarded a penalty in the last minute, only for the VAR to correct Hernandez Hernandez in a completely unclear play, the kind that referees weren't alerted to last year since there was real physical contact between Jesus Navas and Anastasios Douvikas.
The referee interpreted the intensity of the foul, which was minimal in this case. Sevilla was spared. The Vigo team was left in total indignation, having played with one player for less than half an hour. And they could have won because they were the better team. Sevilla only seems to compete when they see the spotlight, and it appears they don't put in the effort otherwise. Celta boss Rafa Benítez is incredibly frustrated, and on the other hand, Diego Alonso doesn't seem to understand anything.
Celta star Iago Aspas expressed his frustration following the game.
"What everyone saw, just like what happened to us last week in Girona. Every time we raise our heads, they want to push us down even further. With all the penalties we should have gotten, we should be close to being in the Champions League. Interpreting the intensity of a foul when you've already blown the whistle, you tell me how that's done. We'll keep going, and if they let us, we'll win at San Mames, and if not, we'll have to face what we did today."
The former Liverpool winger, now a Celta living legend, didn't hold back.
"Especially when it happens to you so many times. If it happens once, you hang your head; twice... but it's been twelve matchdays, and we've played seven games where the balance never falls on our side. The one time it does, they're looking at the intensity of a foul. We want to be the best league in the world, and this is not how we progress."
Celta were undone by a late Youssef En-Nesyri strike that robbed them of two points.
"On the field, I think we played a great game. We had opportunities to be 2-0 or 3-0 up, and the equalizer came from a rebound... You leave the pitch angry because of the situation we're in. We're in the relegation zone, and a play like that was seen by everyone in Spain, just like what happened to us last week. It's frustrating, especially for my teammates, because if those goals could be turned into victories, we wouldn't be in the situation we're in."
