Xabi Alonso's "Salah" keeps delivering magic

Bayer Leverkusen ended their unsuccessful streak of two consecutive draws by beating Holstein Kiel 2-0 on Saturday afternoon. The defending champions are now five points below Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich, who have a game in hand (against Eintracht Frankfurt on Sunday).

Xabi Alonso's side didn't allow another disappointment for their fans, like in the reverse fixture at Leverkusen when they dropped a two-goal lead against Kiel.

This time, it stayed 2-0 as the favourites routinely did their homework, wrapping up the tie even before the half-time interval.

Amine Adli assisted and scored one, while Florian Wirtz starred again. He recorded his tenth assist of the season, just one less than for the entire last season. Let us remind you that only Mohamed Salah has recorded a double-digit number of assists in the last two seasons in those Top 5 European leagues.
