Ahead of the match, Kenya Police Bullets FC are at the summit of the league table with 25 points, one point more than second-placed Vihiga Queens, as Ulinzi Starlets and Trinity Starlets occupy the third and fourth place respectively with 23 points each.

The tail end of the table sees a Nyanza affair where Kisumu All Starlets are rooted at the bottom with a single point and are joined in the relegation zone by their Kisumu neighbours Kisped Queens with four points and Homa Bay-based Gideon Starlets with nine points.

Kibera Soccer are eighth on 14 points, six of which came from their last two matches: a walkover last weekend after Kisped Queens failed to show up for the match and a 4-2 victory over Police Bullets FC on Wednesday, 17 December 2025.

Varsity side Zetech, on the other hand, are fifth on the log standings with 18 points and secured a 2-0 victory over Kayole Starlets in their last match, which was preceded by a 1-1 draw against Madira Soccer Assassins.

Today's match was initially set for Sunday, 21 December 2025, and with a walkover issued on Saturday, 10 January, this will be Kibera Soccer’s first competitive match in about a month.

Kibera Soccer have been struggling for form this campaign and have faced difficulties in replicating last season’s performance that saw them lead the table for the better part of the season before losing momentum in the home stretch, finally settling for fourth position.

However, the Kibera-based side managed to lift the FKF Cup but unfortunately lost key players as well as head coach David Vijago to Police Bullets, leading to their current predicaments.

The team will be hoping to secure a win on Wednesday, which would push them to sixth on the log as they prepare for the mid-season transfer window to beef up the squad.

On their part, Zetech have been improving and are out to bag a win that would see them remain fifth but move four points off table toppers Police Bullets.
