This will be the second title for coach Beldine Odemba's side if they win their final match of the season
Kenya Police Bullets FC are closer to successfully retaining the FKF Women’s Premier League title following a goalless draw against former champions Vihiga Queens at the Kenya School of Government ground on Sunday afternoon.
Although a win would have sealed the title outright, the draw means Police have one hand on the title after third-placed Kibera Soccer FC suffered a 1-0 defeat to Zetech in a concurrent fixture.
The result took Police Bullets’ tally to 43 points with one match remaining.
Ulinzi Starlets sit second with 42 points.
The game was closely fought, with Vihiga—already out of contention for the title—putting up a strong fight and denying the Law Enforcers on several occasions.
In the end, the two teams shared the points, a result that takes Police closer to clinching the league title.
At the Zetech Grounds in Mang’u, Zetech Sparks did Police a favor by beating Kibera Soccer by a solitary goal.
The lone goal was scored in stoppage time by Beverline Adika. The Scholars played most of the second half with ten players after Violet Akinyi was shown a red card in the 54th minute.
At the Bungoma National Polytechnic grounds, Bungoma Queens whipped Trinity Starlets 3-0.
Catherine Khaemba, Mirriam Chelagat, and Ruth Chebungui scored the goals for the Queens.
At Moi Stadium in Kisumu, Kisumu All Starlets claimed Kisumu City's bragging rights after edging out KISPED 2-0.
Jacinta Nyambok and Daisy Cherono scored the goals for the Starlets.
In Mombasa, Mombasa Olympic and Bunyore Starlets played out a 1-1 draw. However, the result did not benefit either side, as both teams have been relegated to the second tier.
