The Mary Adhiambo-coached side are heading into the match on the back of a hard fought 3-2 victory over Ulinzi Starlets, and will be banking on it to spur them to victory.
Speaking ahead of the match, Adhiambo, who welcomes back red-hot Ashley Shilwatso who was away with the national team, was pleased with how they coped with her absence, and urged her side to stick to the plan.
“The fact that our 10 goals were scored by six different players shows that we do not necessarily rely on a single player. As we always say, we are taking one game at a time. We will continue sticking with our plan and objectives,” said Adhiambo.
As for defender Lavyne Achola, she acknowledged their opponent’s strength, but expressed confidence in the team to win.
“We know Vihiga has quality in attack, especially Martha Amunyolete. We will just have to make sure we stay compact and work as a team.
We respect the opponent, but also trust in ourselves. This game is important for us and the mentality is either we win or win,” stated Achola.

Vihiga, on the other hand, will be back to league action after a three-week hiatus occasioned by the international break, and will be out to strive to return to winning ways after two consecutive draws against Ulinzi and Zetech Sparks respectively.
Vihiga will be relying on Amunyolete, who currently leads the goalscoring chart with eight goals, to once again lead them to victory.
A win for Kayole in the match could take them to the top of the league table, while for Vihiga, three points could take them as far as second.
Madira Soccer Assassins vs Trinity Starlets
In the other match with the potential to affect the title race and the top of the league table, Madira Soccer Assassins will welcome Trinity Starlets at the Mumboha Grounds, Luanda, Vihiga County from 1300 hrs
Madira are eighth on the log with as many points, while on-form Trinity with 14 points will shoot to the top of the table if they manage to get three points from the match.
Trinity tactician Sylvanus Wesonga will have to adjust his first leg target of 22 points, owing to the great form that his team has started the season with.
Kibera Soccer Women vs Kisumu All Starlets
The relegation battle between Kibera Soccer Women and Kisumu All Starlets at the Marist International University College, Karen will be the first match of the day, scheduled for an 1100 hrs kick off.
Kibera have began the season poorly as compared to last season, where they were in the title race throughout the season. They currently sit 10th with five points, four more than bottom-placed Kisumu.
Kibera will want to utilize home advantage to down the lakeside club, who will be encouraged with Kibera’s form in their pursuit for their first win of the season.
