Worrying, worrying Man Utd! Brighton stun woeful Ten Hag side

The Seagulls triumph 3-1 at Old Trafford as Roberto de Zerbi's team demonstrates cutting-edge football

Manchester United fans turned on the squad after a 3-1 defeat to Brighton. Boos were heard at Old Trafford after a stunning win for the Seagulls, their fourth top-flight victory against the Red Devils in a row.

Former Manchester United striker Danny Welbeck was left unmarked for the 20th-minute opener. After the break, neither Lisandro Martinez nor Victor Lindelof reacted quickly enough to intercept Tariq Lamptey's pass, allowing Pascal Gross to double the visitors' lead in the 53rd minute.

Finally, Joao Pedro was allowed plenty of space at the top of the area to curl home a spectacular third in the 71st minute, which resulted in the exodus of home fans.

The ones that stayed saw a quick riposte and a consolation goal from Hannibal Mejbri, but there was no comeback whatsoever.

The result sees Erik ten Hag's side drop into 12th place with six points.
