The newly aquired defender could miss the whole seaason and the Gunners must find a replacement
He wants to leave Bayern Munich, and he started following Manchester United on social media networks. But he seemed to have liked Rapahel Varane’s posts in vain, as Benjamin Pavard is currently not a Red Devils’ target. The reason is simple, Manchester cannot get Harry Maguire off the books, and they also have to comply with the Financial Fair Play rules, so the Frenchman will (probably) not come to the Theatre of Dreams. But it doesn’t mean that he won’t play in the Premier League come the end of August. As the latest reports suggest, after spending nearly 200 million pounds on reinforcements, Arsenal will probably have to spend some more, and it could be Pavard.
Just as he started to play for his new club, and after receiving some good reviews in pre-season, Gunner's new boy Jurrien Timber suffered a serious knee injury in the season opener and will miss months in action, if not the whole season.
“It’s a huge blow, especially for him having just joined the club to have the injury that he has is a huge disappointment for him. Obviously for the team, it’s a big blow because we recruited him with clear intentions and what he was bringing to the team was evident, and he’s not going to be in this season for us. Jurrien been very good, to be honest, he’s a special character, he knows, and I think he’s started to realise the extent of the injury and the amount of time that he’s going to be out, but he’s in a good place. We are all willing to him help and we are all very close to him, but it’s going to be a long journey” said coach Mikel Arteta.
Gutted to share my injury is more serious than expected, especially after the warm welcome I've received. I wanted to repay you on the pitch, which will not be possible for the forthcoming period. Thanks for making me feel at home and see you at The Carpet 🫶🏾 #COYG pic.twitter.com/m1lBqzMKJd

Being title contenders, Arsenal now must find a suitable replacement, and Pavard could be just the guy. He wants to leave Bayern, and the Gunners could have no problem with personal terms (and probably the fee); it’s just the question they will finally decide that he is the number 1 target. Other teams are also looking at Benjamin. For starters, Manchester has not given up (yet), but they have to find a way to get the money and comply with the rules while Inter Milan is also keen to add the French international, but their problem is not the rules, just money. They don’t have it. All in all, there are strong suggestions that we’re gonna see Pavard in some other stadium rather than at Allianz Arena.
