The Kenyan has scored six goals at the international level with Harambee Stars

Kenyan international Johanna Omolo earlier this week graduated with a Master's Degree in Sports Management from the Escuela Universitaria Real Madrid in Madrid, Spain.

The midfielder went on to share the achievement on his social media handles on Tuesday, and captioned his post 'Fantastic graduation ceremony day in Madrid'. the post was followed by congratulatory messages from across the board, led by his teammates at the national team including Victor Wanyama, Michael Olunga, and Clifton Miheso among others.

Speaking to Mozzart Sport, the 32-year-old said that the motivation to undertake the program came from his passion for the game and what it can do, from a first-hand experience having been a professional footballer.

"The course was a Masters program in Sports Management at the Universidad Europea Real Madrid. My motivation basically comes from my passion for sports, being an active pro athlete, I know what sports (specifically football) can do. The power, how this product transcends everything," the midfielder said.

The former Cercle Brugge player parted ways with Turkish side Kocaelispor last month, just days before his contract lapsed.

“The contract of our professional football player Johanna Ochieng Omolo, which will expire on 31.05.2022, has been mutually terminated,” read a statement from Kocaelispor.

He has previously turned out for clubs in Belgium and Luxembourg across the borders, spending much time of his career in Belgium with Visé, Beerschot, Lommel United, Antwerp, and Cercle Brugge before moving to Turkey.
