Who else than AC Milan, what else than a late rescue - saved by Nkunku this time

Rossoneri seem to play the same game over and over again. And, again, it ends in a draw (1-1)
It was one of those nights when football refused to behave. Fiorentina struck first, Milan refused to die, and the ball seemed determined to dodge the net at every turn until Christopher Nkunku finally forced it in for another draw (1-1).
Pietro Comuzzo had put Fiorentina ahead with a glancing header that crept in off the far post, rewarding a Viola side that had peppered Mike Maignan's goal for long stretches. Milan looked in danger of being punished for a catalogue of missed chances - above all from Christian Pulisic, who somehow failed to score despite finding himself repeatedly one-on-one with David de Gea.

The American danced past the Fiorentina goalkeeper, shot straight at him, dragged efforts wide, and watched others get saved or blocked. Milan were creating, but not finishing. The Rossoneri rotated heavily after a bruising midweek draw with Genoa, which eventually had the same outcome - a draw.
At the other end, Fiorentina were no less dangerous. Robin Gosens, Moise Kean and Dodo all went close, while Maignan was forced into a string of sharp saves as the game became increasingly frantic. Chances flew from one box to the other like shrapnel.
When Comuzzo finally broke the deadlock from a corner, it looked as though Milan's wastefulness had caught up with them. Max Allegri threw on Nkunku in desperation, and the Frenchman of African origins delivered.

In the final minute of regular time, Alexis Saelemaekers stole the ball high up the pitch. Youssouf Fofana slipped a perfect through pass, Nkunku beat the offside line and hammered a shot past De Gea at the near post. One touch, one finish, one lifeline.
