Man City midfielder slammed all those who labelled certain Cityzens' players as "too old," claiming his team would "prove them wrong

Man City's abysmal season shocked everyone around the club from Etihad as well as football fans in general. After all, the Cityzens horrible end of last year was something no one was used to when it came to Pep Guardiola's crew.

And when a thing like that happens, people usually try to find explanations, excuses, and sometimes even those responsible and guilty for the situation.

In the case of Man City, many found the team's "weakest links" in the players over 30, calling them old. However, after the Cityzens knocked out Bournemouth from the FA Cup and qualified for the semi-finals, Bernardo Silva had things to say about the matter, slamming everyone who had a problem with players' age.

"That's people who don't understand the game. Tell me, which player? Give me names. I'm 30 years old, Kovacic is 30 years old. You're not talking about guys that are 36. So we have six bad months or four bad months and out of nowhere we're old, we're not good enough?" the Portuguese said after a win at Vitality Stadium via Manchester Evening News.

Still, Bernardo's criticism didn't end there, as he even had a promise for the "doubting Thomases."

"In the last eight seasons, we've won six Premier Leagues and for four bad months, we're old? That's people that don't understand the game, never played the game and probably don't understand a thing about football. We're going to prove them wrong. We have time for that. We're a bit late for this season, just maybe in a few competitions, but we'll be back, don't worry," Silva vowed.
