It will probably trigger a debate, but if anyone deserves it, then it's definitely him

The era of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo is over. The Argentine has won eight and the Portuguese five Ballon d'Ors, but now is the time for some new players to be the best in the world. It seems that in the years to come, we'll have more than an exciting race for the prestigious award.

This season, there are several contenders.

Kylian Mbappe, Erling Haaland, Vinicius Junior, Jude Bellingham and Europe's top scorer, Harry Kane, are probably the closest ones to winning it in the end. The upcoming European Championship and their performances in Germany will also definitely play an important role in the final decision.

We will find out the winner of the Ballon d'Or in October, and this year's voting is particularly interesting because two Real Madrid players are among the candidates: Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Junior.

The Englishman scored more goals, but the Brazilian headed it home in the Champions League final (Bellingham with the assist, by the way).

Bellingham had a fantastic start to the season, and now has a chance to shine at the Euros, while Vini Jr. will have the same at the Copa America.

However, as things stand, Carlo Ancelotti and Florentino Perez believe it's the Brazilian that deserves the award.

"Vinicius Junior deserves the Ballon d'Or. I have no dilemma," said Ancelotti, while the president almost repeated his coach's words: "Vinicius should get the Ballon d'Or. No dilemma."
