Felix had a decent debut until he got a red card and a possible 3 match suspension
When you pay a hefty sum for a guy for only six months, and then that guy earns a red card in his first appearance for the new club, the first thing which will happen is that people will calculate how much money did he cost the club. And that happened just after Chelsea lost another game, this time against Fulham, and Joao Felix got the red card after a clumsy challenge. The Blues paid 11 million for the player for a six months loan without an obligation to buy, and then paid another 6 million euros for his wages, 17 million all in all. Since Chelsea is bound to play 21 league games, one appearance of the 23-year-old striker in the Premier League will cost the Blues a little more than 800,000 euros. With that, due to the suspension of three games that Felix is waiting for (he misses the matches with Crystal Palace, Liverpool and Fulham), Chelsea will throw close to 2,500,000 euros down the drain...

Still, there are positives for sure. Despite the match ending in the 58th minute, Felix took more shots (6), more shots on goal (4), made more successful dribbles (2) and forced more fouls (4) than any other player in the match. Chelsea manager Graham Potter spoke highly of the latest signing at the conference after the match, and also talked about the red card incident.
“It was miscontrolled, and a football action that can happen with the speed of the Premier League. He didn't go to hurt anybody. He didn't lose his head. They're all learning moments. Joao is a young player, top player, and you see his qualities. There was no malice in it at all but I understand why it was a red. It was a little bit high and the referee has decision to make. It's really frustrating, incredibly challenging and I feel for the supporters. It is another blow the hits keep coming at the moment. He was really good you could see his quality in the game so to lose Joao for three matches is really disappointing” said Potter after the match.
