Vihiga United defender certain of getting lucrative deals in summer
Vihiga United centre back Norman Werunga is optimistic of securing lucrative deals again in the summer after missing on the opportunity to join one of the three high spending clubs which were pursuing his signature in the February transfer window.
Werunga who is famed for his rock-hard free kicks was under the radar of eleven-time champions Tusker, KCB and Nairobi City Stars but he says he remained in Vihiga's books after the management gave the suitors a cold shoulder in the negotiations.

The former Mt. Kenya United defender who has less than a year remaining in his contract said he was certain the three would revive their interest at the end of the season and would face competition from other top flight sides.
Werunga who joined the county sponsored team in January last year from Zoo FC where he had spend a paltry three months.
"I had three offers on my table in the last transfer but my current employer was not interested in releasing me. I however have no hard feelings towards them and will continue serving them until the end of the season. I strongly believe that I will get better deals in the summer window, " he said.
Meanwhile, the former Zetech University player said he has fit enough for selection when the league resumes after missing the last four league encounters against Tusker, Gor Mahia, Mathare United and AFC Leopards.
Werunga admitted that he took a one-month long break to relieve himself from fatigue but revealed that he would seek to be in the starting team when they travel to face Nzoia Sugar on Wednesday next week.

"The technical bench gave me a rest which helped me deal with fatigue and also gave me time to reflect on how best I can help the team evade relegation. I head back to the team with the resolve to impress the new coach and help the team beat the drop," he added.
