The 21-year-old winger struggled at RB Leipzig, so Jurgen Klopp opted for his return. But there's no need to unpack his suitcase...
Liverpool have confirmed the return of Fabio Carvalho to the club following his cut-short loan spell at RB Leipzig.
He should have stayed with the Bundesliga side for the entire season, but after struggling to earn himself playing time (just nine appearances for Leipzig in all competitions), the Reds decided to bring the 21-year-old winger back.
As per The Athletic, the Portuguese player is likely to head out on loan again for the second half of the campaign, as several clubs from England and abroad have shown interest in him.
Carvalho joined Leipzig on a season-long loan deal in June, with Liverpool rejecting permanent offers for him as the 2022-23 season ended. He signed for Liverpool from Fulham for a fee of £5m, with a further £2.7m in add-ons and a 20 per cent sell-on clause, in June 2022. He struggled, though, in his debut season on Merseyside, too, making only 13 Premier League appearances - with 11 of those coming before December.
