Kenya is due to get substantive Sports CS after Parliamentary vetting.

The award is in the right hands

There's that one image from a few years ago, with Karim Benzema clapping and cheering Cristiano Ronaldo at the Santiago Bernabeu as the Portuguese received the Ballon d'Or reward for the best player in the world. The Frenchman stood in the back not just that night but for years, in the shadows of CR7, patiently waiting for his opportunity to come.

And it finally came, and Karim grabbed it as he should.

The Real Madrid striker has had a tremendous year across all competitions, singlehandedly pushing the Royals to the crowns in both the Champions League and LaLiga. Now, the packed Santiago Bernabeu was praising the silent hero himself. Deservedly.

He went down the tunnel and left the legend

On the night of Karim Benzema's coronation in the Spanish capital, the guy whom Benzema congratulated a few years ago was again under the spotlight. Only this time for the worst possible reason - Cristiano Ronaldo decided to leave the Tottenham tie in despise for not coming in until the match's dying seconds.

It provoked Erik ten Hag's immediate reaction, resulting in Ronaldo's name being scrapped from the first team. The 37-year-old is training with the Red Devils', and his decline can hadrly be stopped at this point.

Ababu's promises

Sports CS nominee Ababu Namwamba took to the Kenyan parliament on Friday afternoon for vetting and made a number of promises if cleared to hold office with priority being placed on lifting the FIFA suspension.

Namwamba who will be taking over his second stint at the docket after being trusted with the post back in 2012 revealed that he will work towards halting what is now a worrying trend of Kenyan athletes switching nationalities.

Also on his plate is the plan to engage federations, sportspersons, as well as stakeholders in the industry within the first 100 days in office to restore Kenyan sports to its former glory.
