Wazito youngster picks lessons after debut in City Stars defeat

Wazito’s highly-rated youngster Erick Mulu earned his debut for the club on Thursday albeit in the 3-1 drabbing at the hands of Nairobi City Stars but has chosen to draw lessons from the loss. 

Mulu was singed on the Bosman rule after stints in Spain with CD Almuñecar City and FC Malaga City having previously featured for Ligi Ndogo and Kangemi All Stars locally.

Speaking to Mozzart Sport, Mulu chose to pick lessons from his debut as he was introduced in the 90th minute for Eli Asieche when Wazito were seeking a route back in the tie. 

“A lot of things come as a lesson, so for me, it was a learning curve and we should all learn from this and rectify our mistakes,”

“Playing under him (Francis Kimanzi) has been good, the friendlies that I have played, the training sessions have also been good, I want to quickly adapt to his style of play,” said Mulu.

A late flurry of goals from Kenedy Onyango, Timothy Ouma and Rodgers Okumu coupled with a consolation goal from Amos Asembeka handed Simba wa Nairobi a 3-1 win.

The versatile player added he has set his sights on playing more games and admitted that Wazito made a number of errors in the clash. 

“I would not really call it a debut because I was introduced in the final five minutes of the game so I did not do much but I’m looking forward to more minutes in the coming games,”

“We had chances in the game they also had theirs which they utilized, we also made a number of mistakes and they punished us,” added Mulu.
