Jokes aside, Nottingham Forest are about to bring the 19th player in this transfer window (!?). It's Ivorian defender Serge Aruier

Former Tottenham fullback Serge Aurier has undergone a medical at Nottingham Forest on Wednesday, ahead of signing a contract with the newly-promoted Premier League side.

The 29-year-old is a free agent and is capable of covering both right and left back positions. He will apparently sign a one-year contract with the option of a further extension for another year.

Aurier spent last season at Villarreal, but was mainly benched, occasionally replacing his former Spurs teammate Juan Foyth.

During an extremely busy summer transfer window following their promotion to the Premier League, Forest have made no fewer than 17 permanent signings, plus Dean Henderson on loan from Manchester United.

Jesse Lingard, Morgan Gibbs-White, Emmanuel Dennis, Neco Williams, Omar Richards, Cheikhou Kouyate, Orel Mangala, Moussa Niakhate, Taiwo Awoniyi, Giulian Biancone, Joel Thompson, Ryan Hammond, Wayne Hennessey, Brandon Aguilera, Harry Toffolo, Lewis O'Brien and Remo Freuler have also arrived.
