Kenyan international Allan Wanga is aiming to get the better of Gor Mahia on Wednesday after suffering a defeat against AFC Leopards.

Kakamega Homeboyz skipper Allan Wanga has set his sights on claiming Gor Mahia’s scalp after suffering a deflating 1-2 loss to arch-rivals AFC Leopards.

Homeboyz face Gor Mahia on Wednesday 3 March at Bukhungu Stadium as they aim to build on their first win against K’Ogalo last time out.

Wanga noted that Homeboyz are angling for a win in the clash against Gor Mahia as they hope to pick themselves up after the defeat against Ingwe on Sunday.

“We are going back to the drawing board and we will plan well for that game (against Gor Mahia) and see how we can get the three points,” said Wanga.

Homeboyz let some piece of history slip away in the loss against Ingwe as Leopards picked up on their second win away to Abana Abeingo since April 2013.

The former AFC Leopards forward revealed that Homeboyz had to reshuffle their plans after being stunned 2-0 in the opening 30 minutes of the game.

“The game was okay, we tried to stick to our game plan but AFC started strong and got early goals which changed our plans in the game and we came back in the second half looking for ways to equalize and win the game.”

“I got an injury in the first half then the coach saw it best to rest me but those who came in also applied pressure but I think AFC’s strategies worked and that is why they got the three points,” added Wanga.

Homeboyz will however seek to bounce back when they face an off-color Gor Mahia that has failed to win their last four games in all competitions on Wednesday.
