Wakhisi terms fast-rising full back Jefta Okiring as next big thing

Dennis Wakhisi, a grassroot based coach has tipped the little-known Jefta Okiring to take the Football Kenya Federation Premier League by storm should he sign a deal before the window closes.

Nzoia Sugar and Nairobi City Stars have been linked to the full back who is currently attached to the Naivasha based Plantech FC.

Wakhisi, the man who spotted and nurtured Tusker midfielder Joseph Mwangi among other players who have graced the top division said, Okiring had the mettle to thrive in the top league despite his lack of experience.

The tactician waxed lyrical on the player saying he had demonstrated top of the draw attributes that are needed to succeed at the demanding top level.

“He is a decent full back who can comfortably play on the right and left. I am sure he will flourish in the top flight for he is a quick learner. His ball handling, discipline and hard work is commendable,” he praised the budding defender.

With two clubs chasing his signature, Wakhisi counseled the DeSa Soccer Academy graduate to make the best choice and settle at the club that will develop and make him a better player.

“I want him to make the right choice. The two clubs are known for offering young players a chance and I believe, he will pick the best,” he added.

Okiring featured for Malaba giants before crossing to Plantech who ply trade in the regional league.
