Wadadia shock Trans Nzoia to go third

Reading Time: 2min | Sat. 13.03.21. | 22:12

Wadadia staged a huge upset by beating Trans Nzoia Falcons while Eldoret Falcons fell 3-2 to Nakuru West Queens.

Sitting second on Women Premier League (WPL) Zone B, Trans Nzoia Falcons were the favourites in the clash against Wadadia who were fourth on the log before the clash. However, Wadadia upset the form book to snatch three points from the title hopefuls and equal their points tally.

Wadadia's win is probably the most dramatic of the weekend as they bagged maximum points thanks to Harriet Ochieng's own goal in the 66th minute.

The win takes Wadadia to third place, on 16 points similar to Trans Nzoia's but with an inferior goal difference, dislodging Kisumu All Starlets who are set to play Oserian Ladies on Sunday.

Both Wadadia and Trans Nzoia will be holding their breath, hoping for a miracle in Kisumu's clash against Oserian who have had a poor season. A win for Kisumu will take them to second place on 17 points, relegating Trans Nzoia to third place and Wadadia back to fourth place.

In another match, Eldoret Falcons continued with their poor showing as they fell 3-2 to Nakuru West Queens in front of home fans at the Eldoret Show Ground.

A brace from Diana Koske and Linda Kihara's goal condemned Eldoret to their ninth loss in as many matches, further prolonging their long wait for a point in the 2021 season. The Wycliffe Ngoko-coached side have let in the highest number of halls in their zone, 25 while managing to score seven so far.

All zone A matches that were initially scheduled to play on Saturday were moved to Sunday.
