Virus-torn PSG get battered at Monaco, putting Galtier's job in jeopardy

The Saints lose 3-1, as Wissam Ben Yedder puts on a show against the inexperienced Parisian defence

Without injured Messi and Mbappe and a couple of players more sidelined due to a virus, Paris Saint-Germain are not more than a decent mid-table side.

The 3-1 away loss to AS Monaco on Saturday night proved how vulnerable Christophe Galtier's side truly is. Vulnerable and futile.

The hosts found the back of the net just four minutes into the match, as Ben Yedder made a mess on the right flank before Golovin put it behind Donnarumma for a 1-0 lead.

The same side, the same player, and the same outcome - only some 15 minutes later between the two Monaco's goals. Ben Yedder tackled PSG's youngster Bitshiabu, took the ball from him and then finished it smoothly for 2-0.

Another PSG kid, Zaire-Emery, managed to get his team back on track with a first-half goal, slotting it low on the far post, but that was all PSG could do tonight.

A few seconds before the break, Ben Yedder shone again, easily getting rid of PSG's centre-backs to seal both the brace and his side's victory with 45 minutes still remaining.

The second half didn't provide too much action, with Galtier having many reasons for concern ahead of their Champions League skirmish with Bayern Munich.
