West Ham won the previous edition of the Europa Conference League, and Unai Emery slot is aiming for the same
Unai Emery and his squad travel to Poland to begin their Europa Conference League Group E campaign against Legia Warszawa on Thursday evening.
The Villans are trying to replicate West Ham United's success in last season's ECL. The success enjoyed by Roma and West Ham has led to clubs such as Villa seeing it as their route to becoming European mainstays.
Emery - a specialist in winning European trophies - will be focusing on winning this competition, progressing from Group E being the initial target.
Villa demolished Hibernian by an 8-0 aggregate scoreline in the playoff round, while Legia have come through three thrilling qualifying ties to reach this stage, overcoming Ordabasy, Austria Vienna and Midtjylland despite conceding as many as 13 goals.
