Ochieng, who moved to the club in January from Gusii FC, cemented his place in coach Milton Kidiga's squad by posting up impressive performances in his maiden Football Kenya Federation Premier League season.

Vihiga Bullets attacking midfielder Felix Ochieng will not switch his allegiance in the ongoing player registration window, despite Bullets plying trade in the second tier.

Ochieng, who moved to the club in January from Gusii FC, cemented his place in coach Milton Kidiga's squad by posting up impressive performances in his maiden Football Kenya Federation Premier League season.

His impressive work rate in midfield caught the eye of top-flight scouts with Tusker FC and Kakamega Homeboyz registering interest in his services as well as second-tier sides Mara Sugar FC, Kisumu All Stars and a re-union with Peter Okidi at Kajiado FC was also on the horizons for the youthful midfielder.

However, after intense talks with Vihiga Bullets chairman Moses Akaranga, the dreaded player has confirmed his intention to extend with the Vihiga-based club for the next 18 months.

"We have an agreement and I will continue here (Bullets)," said the former Gusii FC man.

The 21-year-old noted that his decision was informed by the club's boss project for the coming 2023-24 campaign where Bullets target a quick return to first-tier football.

"The club has an impressive plan going into the new season and I want to be part of the project. Furthermore, the chairman agreed to my demands which he has fulfilled before I signed the extension," offered Ochieng.

The Kisumu-raised midfield maestro known for his short, quick switches, pace and skills even under intense pressure, has however, challenged himself to upper his numbers in the coming campaign setting up a target of double-figure assists and promotion with the Akaranga-powered club.

Bullets were relegated from top flight league to the second tier last season and will start their hunt for a return to the FKF Premier League on the weekend of 16th September with a trip to Gusii FC.
