Manoah says the quick goals scored by Mt. Kenya United played a big role in the defeat.

Vihiga Bullets head coach, Edward Manoah says early goals conceded by his side altered their game plan and led to the shocking 2-1 defeat in the hands of struggling Mt. Kenya United.

The promotion chasers suffered a shocking defeat at Camp Toyoyo in the hands of the strugglers going down 2-0 inside the first 30 minutes Kevin Rungu and Eric Mmata scored the goals for Mt. Kenya, Godfrey Airo then pulled one back shortly after but Bullets could not get a second and they suffered a defeat.

In his post-match interview, Manoah said that his team was unsettled by the early goals that they conceded. He further admitted that Mt. Kenya executed their game plan well.

We were put off by these early goals, they forced us to change our game plan but I cannot complain much about the outcome, they had a strategy which they executed well in the first half. In the second half, we showed commitment we attacked more and tried to come back into the game but were not lucky because the opponents were solid so congratulations to them, they worked hard for the points,” he said.

Manoah is already looking forward and says they will prepare well so that they can bounce back as soon as football.

"This is part of football, you win some, lose some and draw some I will just try to encourage the players. We have been on a good run but eventually, it had to be broken so we will go back to plan ahead of our next fixture. The league is a marathon and we have to bounce back,” he added.

Bullets are fourth in the log with 27 points while Mt. Kenya is 19th with 16 points.
